Teen Accidentally Asks The Wrong Lady To Prom And It Goes Horribly Wrong

Proposals are all the rage right now, and teens at a Nevada high school followed suit with an Operation prom Date.

The plan was all set and put in motion, but then it went wrong and the mishap was caught on camera for all to see.

The initial plan was a simple one: Austin Mousa and Johnny Pashales would both drive to the girl’s house with a box of doughnuts and Austin would ask her out to prom all while Johnny captured the moment on video.

However, when they made it to the neighbourhood, Austin couldn’t remember which house was that of Hannah Masluk.

Austin remarked “He’s like, ‘Oh, don’t worry, dude. I gotcha, i know which house it’s,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, bro’!”

After that, things seemed to smooth out, and the 17-year-old boys from Coronado high school felt like they had things under control and we’re going to pull off the best proposal ever.

However, when the door opened, the woman who answered didn’t look remotely familiar. And it was clear to the smiling duo that something wasn’t right.

That’s not Hannah, Austin thought. “Oh my gosh,” the woman said. Austin looked over at Johnny, who was happy from behind his phone.

“Johnny, you picked the wrong house,” Austin remarked. Johnny stopped the video after that, and both boys apologized and left the house.

The eventually made it to the right house, where Austin once again, knocked on the door. this time though, it was 16-year-old Hannah Masluk who answered, and Austin was relieved that he was at the right location.

“The second try’s the charm,” Johnny said, laughing behind the camera again.

“We just went to the wrong house,” Austin told Hannah. Johnny stopped recording after that.

Afterwards, Austin uploaded the video Johnny had captured to his Twitter with the caption, “Only I could mess up going to a girl’s house to ask her to prom.”

What Austin couldn’t anticipate was that the video of his proposal fail would end up going viral on the internet.

“It was surreal. it was funny, but I didn’t think it was that funny for that many people to see it,” Austin said.

The following day at school, the number of views had passed 100,000, and there was no end in sight as the views ended up hitting an incredible 2.5 million.

One ofll Austin’s friends even asked to interview him for The Roar – the student news website – featuring him in a “Senior Spotlight” profile.

Austin said, “They were like, ‘Can you be in it? because you’re famous currently and stuff.’ I’m like, ‘OK, let’s relax. I’m not that famous.’”

In a world where one image or video that may be intended for a select few can spiral into millions of views, Austin got a brief taste of what it’d be like to be famous.

“I don’t know how really famous people do it,” the teen said. “They’ve got a lot on their mind, they’ve got a lot on their plate, it’s tough.”

The video can only help to change his life in a positive way, as it taught him a very important life lesson of repercussion.

“In my mind, I was like, I can’t make any stupid decisions, because you never know how it’s going to end up currently,” he said. “With that many people knowing who you’re, you can’t really make any dumb decisions.”

Although Johnny captured the video, he didn’t get as much attention as Austin, although he still takes all the credit for Austin’s viral fame. His closest friends know that he was the cameraman on that day.

“You can call me the mastermind behind it,” Johnny joked.

If you’re curious about what happened in the finish with Austin and Hannah, you’ll be happy to know that the 2 of them attended the prom together on the 6th of April.

Allison Masluk, Hannah’s mom, said, “This story is going to be told within our families for years or generations. the best part about it’s it’s all on video. you always hear the story about your parents growing up or whatever – but we have it on video.”

While Christine Mousa, Austin’s mother said, “It was a proud mom moment. i must have missed Parenting 101.”

This video is a great example that shows mistakes don’t always have to be major disasters.
